The SeeHawk Monitor, an automated spectrum monitoring system from PCTEL, now offers 4G LTE and 5G NR network monitoring for critical communication coverage. It can be used for monitoring both public and private broadband networks in hospitals, utilities, data centers, and entertainment venues, as well as such government applications as regulatory enforcement and signal intelligence.

SeeHawk was launched in August 2022 for spectrum monitoring and uplink testing of P25 public safety radio networks. With this release, the same platform can be used to monitor downlink signals from 4G LTE and 5G NR network base stations.

In addition to monitoring spectrum for 4G/5G availability, SeeHawk quickly identifies service-impacting issues. It employs remote test units (RTUs) to detect and decode 4G LTE and 5G NR base station signals in real time. Once detected, the system notifies users of changes in conditions, like a reduction in signal quality or the presence of a new or rogue network. SeeHawk’s Platform Manager software remotely monitors and configures all RTUs in the system and includes spectrum analysis tools for investigating issues.
